Platform Shetland was created in October 2012 by Paul Riddell, ex-editor of The Shetland Times and former senior assistant editor of The Scotsman.
Paul leads an experienced team of people who are dedicated to helping you to communicate more effectively.
With more than 20 years in the media at national and local level, Paul knows what a good story is – and more importantly how to write one. He is an expert in communications strategy, crisis management and running media campaigns for clients. He further specialises in social media – the how to as well as the dos and don’ts – and produces a wide range of materials for print and online publication.
Paul is also an accomplished photographer and videographer, and a selection of his photography can be seen on his website.
Paul’s fellow director Ruth Webster works on strategy, book projects and engagement with schools (she is also a part-time primary school teacher).
The team further comprises Lisa Ward and Victoria Tait.
Lisa is a former marketing specialist at Shetland Arts, who has vast experience of media, social media, events and festivals and brings energy, insight and savvy to our client work.
Victoria is a skilled project manager who has worked in a variety of creative environments, including book and journal publishing in both UK and international markets. She has handled a number of large scale digital, design and PR campaigns for clients in the food and drink, seafood, education and tourism sectors. She has extensive knowledge of community and industry engagement and specialises in copy writing, brand management, events and exhibitions.
We are passionate about our work and strive to ensure our clients gain best value.
